Lee Meddin (MBA '93), Deputy Treasurer/Global Head of the Structured & Securitized Products Department, International Finance Corporation
Lee Meddin is the Deputy Treasurer and Global Head of the Structured & Securitized Products Department for the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank Group. Since joining IFC in 2000, Lee has built up a global team responsible for having structured and credit-enhanced more than $10bn of securitizations and structured debt issues for clients in over 25 developing countries. This has facilitated the introduction of mortgage-backed securities, asset-backed securities, structured corporate debt, and bilateral structured financings in numerous new markets. As a structuring investor, IFC remains focused on providing emerging market clients with innovative forms of financing that facilitate the development of domestic debt markets and increase the capacity for long-term local currency investment. Prior to joining IFC, Lee worked as an investment banker in the US, Europe, and Asia with responsibilities spanning interest rate and credit derivatives, structured products, and debt capital markets. He holds an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from Tulane University and an MBA from the University of Michigan. Lee was highlighted in the 2004 and 2006 editions of Treasury & Risk magazine as being amongst the 100 most influential people in finance.
